ON THE WINGS OF THE GREAT CONDOR

Today, we will pick you up and transfer you from Cusco airport to your hotel. Upon arrival, we will welcome you with a special introduction to the tour, including a warm welcome circle. Our goal is for you to feel comfortable and excited to explore the rich culture and stunning landscapes of Cusco.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we will head to the archaeological center of Pisac, an iconic site that offers stunning panoramic views of the Sacred Valley.

Next, we will visit the Sounds of the Andes Workshop, where we will learn about the power of sound and Andean music. Here, we will experience the importance of music in Andean culture.

After this enriching experience, we will continue our tour to the Inkariy Museum, a space dedicated to the history and culture of ancient Peruvians. Here, we will discover the evolution of Andean civilizations through interactive exhibits and artifacts.

After lunch, we will head to the village of Chinchero, known as the rainbow village. In this charming village, we will visit the archaeological center and a textile center where we will learn about the ancestral techniques used by Andean inhabitants to create beautiful textiles.

Finally, we will conclude our tour with a return to your hotel.

Our tour to the Chonta Condor Canyon begins with pickup at your hotel at 9 a.m., followed by a trip to Limatambo. We will visit the archaeological center of Tarawasi and enjoy panoramic views of the Chonta community and the Salkantay and Humantay mountains.

After lunch in Chonta, we will start a hike that will take approximately an hour and a half to reach the ‘Huaco’ viewpoint, overlooking the Apurímac River canyon, where we may be lucky enough to see Andean condors and other birds like eagles and hawks.

After this incredible experience with the Andean condor, we will return to the Chonta community for the night, where dinner will be waiting for us.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast to recharge, we will return via the same route to head to the archaeological center of Quillarumiyoc, a ceremonial, astronomical, and religious site.

Here, we will receive a blessing and ceremony with the water element. After visiting and enjoying this beautiful place, we will return to your hotel.

At 7:00 a.m., we will pick you up at your hotel and depart from Cusco towards the province of Paruro, passing through towns like Yaurisque.

Our first stop will be the Puma Orqo archaeological complex, where we will learn about the legend of the origins of Inca culture. Next, we will explore the caves of Tamputoqocaca, which means “place of dawn or origin.”

We will continue with a 5-kilometer (3-mile) hike to Maukallaqta, an archaeological site with over 200 structures. There, we will see ceremonial springs and other sacred buildings. Before starting the hike to Maukallaqta, we will have the pleasure of participating in the Wachuma ceremony and walk with it.

Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco.

We will begin at Qoricancha, or the Temple of the Sun. After the Spanish conquest, it became the base of the Santo Domingo convent. In Inca times, this temple was the most important.

Next, we will visit Sacsayhuamán. This impressive structure features enormous carved stones, some reaching heights of 9 meters and weighing over 100 tons.

Then, we will explore the Qenqo archaeological park, a site dedicated to Mother Earth, carved from a single block of stone, with ceremonial centers where they would place their mummies.

Our journey continues to the Temple of the Moon and the Temple of the Condor, two significant spiritual sites. The Temple of the Moon, located in the hills above Cusco, is dedicated to lunar worship and reflects the Incas’ love for the moon.

In contrast, the Temple of the Condor symbolizes freedom and power, with its stone work resembling a condor in flight.

After a delicious breakfast, we will take a bus to the majestic citadel of Machu Picchu, known as “The Crystal Condor.” After a 25-minute trip, we will present our tickets and passports.

Our guide will take us to the best viewpoints during a tour of approximately 2 hours, highlighting the spiritual importance of the site for the Incas.

At the end, we will return to Aguas Calientes for lunch, and then take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where a private bus will take us to Cusco and our hotel.
