ITINERARY
The tour of the city of Cusco begins at Qoricancha, the Temple of the Sun, which became the foundation of the Santo Domingo convent after the arrival of the Spanish. During the Inca period, it was dedicated to the worship of Inti.
Next, we will visit Sacsayhuamรกn, an iconic construction of the Inca Empire, ordered by Pachacuteq in the 15th century, made up of enormous stones up to 9 meters high. We will continue to the archaeological park of Qenqo, a center for worship of Mother Earth, where it is believed ceremonies were held and mummies of important leaders were deposited.
The next stop will be Puca Pucara, known as the “Red Fortress,” likely a military control center, featuring archaeological structures such as aqueducts and fountains. Finally, we will visit Tambomachay, which boasts a beautiful system of channels and fountains, and was a place of water worship.
After picking you up at your hotel at 7:30 a.m., we will head to Chinchero. First, we will visit the archaeological center with well-preserved Inca altars, followed by a tour at the Textile Center, where local weavers will teach us the ancestral art of Andean textiles.
Then, we will stop at the Maras salt mines, an important production center with over 3,000 salt pools that are filled daily with filtered water from the earth. We will continue to Moray, an agricultural experimentation center with concentric terraces that helped understand the different temperatures for crops.
After lunch in Urubamba, we will arrive at the majestic archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, which features an impressive set of terraces, ceremonial centers, and fountains that whisper stories of ancient civilizations.
Finally, we will take our train to Aguas Calientes.
After a delicious breakfast, we will take a bus to the majestic Citadel of Machu Picchu, known as โThe Crystal Condor.โ After a 25-minute journey, we will present our tickets and passports.
Our guide will take us to the best viewpoints during a tour of approximately 2 hours, highlighting the spiritual significance of the site for the Incas.
At the end, we will return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and then take the train back to Ollantaytambo, where a private bus will take us to Cusco and our hotel.
If you wish to hike to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu, remember to book your tickets in advance.
We will pick you up from your hotel at 4:00 a.m. to enjoy the beautiful landscape on the way to the Rainbow Mountains in Peru, which will take approximately 3.5 hours by bus.
We will make a brief stop for a nutritious Andean breakfast before beginning the ascent. The route to the Rainbow Mountains is clear and safe. The hike to the top takes about 1.5 hours at a leisurely pace, and our guides will ensure you have a pleasant experience.
Once at the top, you can enjoy stunning views and take photos. After a moment of rest and a snack, we will begin the descent and then enjoy a delicious lunch before returning to Cusco.
Today, we will start the tour at 6:15 a.m. and head to the Cusco terminal to take the bus, which will take approximately 10 hours with stops along the way. The first stop will be in Andahuaylillas, also known as the Sistine Chapel of the Andes due to the beauty of its murals, gold leaf work, and paintings from the Cusco School.
The second stop is Raqchi, also known as the Temple of the god WIRACOCHA. Here, we will find the highest number of Colcas (granaries) and see magnificent stone and adobe structures. During the journey, we will stop for lunch.
Continuing on, the next stop is La Raya, followed by the Pucarรก Lithic Museum, where we will find ceramics and sculptures representing zoomorphic figures, including the famous HATUNรAQAC sculpture, which translates to “the supreme executor” in our times.
Finally, after 10 hours of travel, we will arrive in Puno and head to the hotel.
This morning, we will visit the Aramu Muru Door in the Valley of Spirits, navigating through rock formations resembling a snake and a puma to connect with different energies of the world.
We will pass through the mysterious Valley of Spirits to reach the Door, believed to be a portal to other dimensions.
Afterward, we will continue to Inca Uyo, or Temple of Fertility, a sacred rectangular site for Pachamama rituals and sun worship.
Start your morning with the sunrise before embarking on a private boat trip across Lake Titicaca to the Uros Islands, made of totora and home to the Uros people.
These islands, which were originally mobile defense systems, now attract visitors to learn about the ancient traditions and simple lifestyle of the Uros.
Next, we will visit Amantanรญ Island, known for its kantuta flowers; climbing the mountain peaks (Pachatata and Pachamama) is optional to see the ancient ruins. The terraced slopes of the island are used for agriculture.
This journey offers the opportunity to connect with ancestral wisdom and reflect on the experience, and we will spend the night in Amantanรญ.
After breakfast, we will have our offering to Pachamama and Pachatata, thanking them for all the blessings and gifts received during this retreat. We will leave Amantanรญ for our transfer to Puno.
In the evening, we will have our farewell dinner.
